Troy's Top 100 Movies #52 City Slickers

#52 City Slickers. Before he lent his voice to Mike Wazowski and was making horrible family films, I'm looking at you Parental Guidance! Billy Crystal was one of the funniest, most well respected comedians ever, and he was at the height of his career with this 1991 comedy.
Crystal plays Mitch Robbins who on his 39th birthday is having a mid life crisis when his best friends Phil Berquist and Ed Furillo played by Daniel Stern and Bruno Kirby respectively, present Mitch with with a joint gift, a two week cattle drive.
A pretty simple plot but they pull it off with this western comedy, the three leads have great chemistry together which is only heightened with the introduction of Curly played by acting legend Jack Palance. This film hits all the right notes, slapstick comedy, tragedy, romance, thrills plus who could forget the ice cream flavor battle? This is a great film with a great cast and it's one of the films that cemented my love for movies.
