Top 10 Batman artists

Today has been declared Batman day so in honor of that I present to you my (Troy) all time favorite Batman artists.

10-Tim Sale

Like his style or not, Tim Sale has drawn one of the best Batman stories in the last 20 years with The Long Halloween.

9-Bob Kane
The first, though it has been said that Bill Finger was responsible for the original conception of the dark knight, it was Bob Kane that set the stage for what Batman would become.

8-Frank Miller
When you think of legendary Batman stories The Dark Knight Returns will always come to mind.

7-Ed Mcguinness
Ed Mcguinness' art style has been described as muscles on muscles, Ed Mcguinness draws Batman as a truly imposing character that could crush a car with his bare hands.

6- Neal Adams
Though I may not like him personally, you can't deny Neal Adams contribution to Batman, he was one of the first "rock star" artists for DC.

5- Michael Turner

A fantastic artist gone way to soon, Michael Turner drew some of the best versions of Batman. Lean and muscular with a wide chest and thin waist Michael Turner really showed off Batman's physique.

4-Bruce Timm

The genius behind Batman The Animated series. Bruce Timm crafted an entire new way of drawing animation.

3-Greg Capullo
My newest on this list, I never took much notice of Capullo's work even though he has worked in comics for 20+ years. But once he starting drawing Scott Snyder's run on Batman I couldn't ignore him anymore, his style lends itself perfectly to the Dark Knight

2-Alex Ross
The most realistic version of Batman you will ever find on paper, Alex Ross has been drawing stunning photo realistic art for a long long time. With his Kingdom Come series and his several collaborations with Paul Dini Ross has cemented his place as one of the all time greats.

1-Jim Lee
Probably the most popular Batman artist of the last decade, Jim Lee made his mark on the Batman Hush story line and on his work with Frank Miller on Batman and Robin All Stars. Now as co-publisher of DC comics Lee helped relaunch DC with the New 52 series and drew the first 6 issues of the new Justice League.
