Troy's Top 100 Movies. #84 The Breakfast Club

#84 The Breakfast Club
Continuing with the 80's goodness is a movie so 80's you'll want to grab your leggings and pop in your Billy Idol cassette after reading this. Starring Emilio Esteves, Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall and Ally Sheedy the Breakfast Club is a 1985 John Hughes movie about five high school students serving a detention on a Saturday morning. With nothing in common and very different backgrounds they at first can't stand one another, but after learning that it doesn't matter if you are a brain, athlete, basket case, a princess or a criminal, everyone has trials in their life. After a while and a few sob stories about they and why they are in detention in the first place they slowly start to respect and even like each other. With a young cast and totally awesome soundtrack The Breakfast Club paves the way for the 90's teensplosion trend with movies like "10 Things I hate About You" "She's All That" and "American Pie". The Breakfast Club is a cinematic icon and should be on everyone's must watch list.
