Troy's Top 100 Movies #57 Super 8

#57 Super 8
In this J.J. Abrams directed film set in the early 80's, several kids set off to make their own zombie movie using their new Super 8 camera. While filming an emotional scene at a train station they are nearly killed as a train derails sending debris and train cars hurling through the air. What is even more crazy is that it appears someone or something that train was carrying escaped and is now terrorizing the town. This is an incredibly fun movie, a throwback and homage to movies like The Goonies, Super 8 sees the children as the heroes of the story. With great visuals and some really good acting from the main kids Super 8 really captures the innocence of what it was like to be a child and plays on your imagination taking you back to that place that we tend to forget as adults.
