My second favorite 80's movie off all time also happens to be one of the most popular movies of all time, 1984's Ghostbusters. This classic comedy starring Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Harold Ramis sees three unemployed parapsychologists as they start a business as a ghost removers. Ghostbusters directed by Ivan Reitman is what I think of when I think classic summer blockbuster. With big names, a laugh out loud script, and beautiful effects (for the time) Ghostbutsers is what happens when everything comes together perfectly. The perfect cast, the perfect story, the perfect director and audiences ate it up becoming the second highest grossing film of 1984 behind Beverly Hills Cop. With the re-release of Ghostbusters in theaters a few years back and the rumors of a Ghostbusters 3 in the works, Ghostbusters will always stand critically and commercially as one of the greatest movies ever made.
