If you want to talk about a feel good movie for the whole family this is the one. Tom Hanks stars in this movie about four young guys in the 60's who start a band called The Wonders (or The Oneders) if you prefer. The story follows the band as they play in talent shows and pizza joints to then making it big with their hit That Thing You Do. However cracks start to form in the band and when the bass player turns up MIA for a big show and Lenny (Steve Zahn) runs off to Vegas after, the band dissolves becoming the one hit Wonders. This is such a great film, the soundtrack alone is worth praise, but with stellar performances by Tom Hanks, Liv Tyler (oddly enough) Steve Zahn, Johnathon Schaech and a break through performance by Tom Everett Scott as Guy "Shades" Patterson. That Thing You Do hits all the right places, it's a laugh out loud great family film that will leave you humming the songs for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!
