Only ever airing 11 episodes this inventive take on a classic was quickly and quietly pulled from Cartoon Network's schedule in October, bringing back to the surface hurtful memories of Firefly along with others taken before their time. Dang you Gail Berman! Why did you have to pull the plug on Firefly?
Anyways...
Let us break this thing down.
This series does take quite a few liberties with what we've come to know as Batman staples, but doesn't brake too far from tradition to become a deterrent. With an all new list of villains, Alfred bearing an uncanny resemblance to Agent 47, Batman teaming up with a sidekick (Katana) other than Robin and a theme song by Dum Dum Girls, I was a little taken back at first to say the least. But, once I started watching it, just like the new TMNT I was hooked.
It has an excellent voicing cast, extremely talented writers who have worked on a number of other DC Comics projects and fast paced action that makes for an enjoyable ride you'll be sure to like!
There has still been no air dates announced and no more episodes have been made, but I can't help but think we haven't seen the last of this Dark Knight. The only clue this detective has found comes from its full title: Beware The Batman: Shadows of Gotham, Season 1 Part 1.
Well...until next time my fellow nerds, geeks and freaks. And remember....Keep on gaming!!
