Never have I been sitting in a theater with my mouth agape trying to process what I am seeing on screen! Rise of the Planet of the Apes tells the story of Caesar, a chimp who mother was killed after being subjected to a synthetic drug to cure Alzheimer's, the drug has a profound effect on Caesar who was also subjected to the drug while still in the womb. As he grows and matures Caesar exhibits an amazing intellect, when he is sent to a chimp house after attacking a human he begins to realize his destiny and the destiny of all apes, world wide domination. Andy Serkis best known for his role of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings series, plays Caesar through motion capture and the final product is mind bending! Caesar is the most realistic CGI character I have ever seen, not only is the effects amazing but the performance that Andy Serkis gives is in my opinion Oscar worthy, the way he displays emotion using only his eyes and body language is astounding!
